4th Paranoia Acrobatixx - Horacio and Seiko in top form

Despite the not ideal weather conditions the 4th Paranoia in Zell am See, Austria was a really succesfull event. 4 valid runs out of 4 days with 36 pilots + a freestlye expression session on the sunny saturday afternoon with the best 15 pilots mixed with some base jump demos, out of the helicopter at 1000m over the lake.

Due to the low height difference of the take-off places here the pilots have to perform 3 maneuvers (which means only the first one can be Tumbling or Infinity) and they were allowed to choose their free program right from the first run.

The audience could see some hot situations and reserve deployments for example on Friday, when Dennis Sørensen falled straight into his canopy from the exit of an extremely dynamic Tumbling at 300 meters...

Horacio continues to perform his best in this season and finished first many points ahead his followers. Thanks to not only his precisely executed maneuvers, but also the great ground spiral landings whereafter 3 out of 4 times he landed dry on the small raft, however the conditions were not optimal - almost zero wind all the time !
Seiko Fukuoka showed to the boys how to make nice helicopter combinations and finished 10th overall and 1st between the womans.

1. Horacio Llorens (SP, SOL Supersonic, 357,38 pts)
2. Hernan Pittoco (AR, SOL Supersonic, 339,98 pts)
3. Cyril Planton (FR, Team5 Black, 334,98 pts)
4. Alexander Meschuh (AT, Icaro Nikita, 325,05 pts)
5. Renato Lopez (BR, SOL Supersonic, 315,73 pts)
6. Hornböck Bernd (AT, U-Turn Morpheus, 312,95 pts)
7. Kezi Gabor (HUN, U-Turn Morpheus, 307,90 pts)
8. Schrittwieser Marcell (AT, SOL Supersonic, 301,96 pts)
9. Marck Pascal (FR, Ozone FLX, 300,08 pts)
10. Seiko Fukuoka (JP, U-Turn G-Force, 291,08 pts)

Actual FAI World Ranking (results after Vertigo Swiss Riviera)

Last but not least ,after a 2 month long break I made my first flight out of the helicopter on saturday and did a nice synchro session together with Gábor! It was awesome to be in the air again and see that the maneuvers are still working :-)

AcroAttack08

Since there are no words about the competition on the official website, I could only ask a friend from Ölüdeniz to tell me at least the top 3 results, here they are:

2. Horacio Llorens (SP)
3. Alexander Meschuh (AT)
4. Michael Knipping (DE)
5. Gillaume Cornet (FR)

Vertigo - 3rd day

UPDATE (23:01, 27/06/08)

Provisional results after run 3:

1. Horacio Llorens
2. Guillaume Chatain
3. Hernan Pittoco
4. Félix Rodriguez
5. Cyrille Planton

Provisional results after run 3:

1. SATisfactions
2. Joker
3. Blues Apocalypse

The ranking stayed the same, but the points difference between the teams got bigger and bigger. SATisfaction did a perfectly synchronized flight again. The french team of Alexandre Aimard and Baptiste Rouset came second in this run! The Spälti team is the only one doing Molineti this time (Pitch Pendulum Synchro) just as their last maneuver, flying directly towards the public - really impressive.

Swiss Championship provisional results after run 3:

1. Hervé Cerutti
2. Chrigel Maurer
3. Celine Barman

Sorry, but I couldn't get the detailed results again...

Tomorrow will be no runs for the world cup, instead an "Open" freestyle competition will be held and on sunday comes the final runs in all categories.

_______________________________________________________________________

The 3rd solo run just finished now, in a few minutes they continue with hanggliding, then comes the synchro at 14:00pm.

Cyrille Planton (FR, with Black) did an excellent run with really clear maneuvers and safe landing on the raft, so for sure he can stay in the top 3. Félix (SP, FLX) did not so well this time and missed up his ground spiral landing - came too close to the beach - therefore he might get some warnings and maybe loose some positions. Not like Guillaume Chatain (FR, Shoot), who's performance is constantly really good.

Yesterday I forgot to tell about the Swiss Championship.

At the moment the ranking is:

1. Hervé Cerutti (Gradient Seven)
2. Chrigel Maurer (Advance proto)
3. Celine Barman (Gradient Seven)

The biggest surprise of Vertigo is Celine (Hervé's girfriend), who is doing the highest Tumblings ever from the girls and performing excellent SAT to Helicos and everything...Today she just managed to finish the last figure - a Misty Flip at 2 meters, then splashed straight into the water.
Unfortunately Chrigel is flying an older prototype from Advance, not the one that he made all the Infinity records with (that one doesn't work well anymore), so he can do only Tumbling and Rythmic SAT in his program.

2nd day, results

Another succesful day with really hot weather on the swiss riviera. The first free runs were done in solo, synchro category and hanggliding.

Results of the 2nd Solo task:

1. Félix Rodriguez (SP)
2. Renato Lopez (BR)
3. Cyrille Planton (FR)

Lot of pilots did nice runs, but none of them had a perfect flight. It is easy to notice that the pilots are just warming up for the season and many of them just received brand new gliders and arrived without lot of training.

Provisional results after 2 run:

1. Hernan Pittoco (AR)
2. Horacio Llorens (SP)
3. Félix Rodriguez (SP)

Results of the 2nd Synchro task (same as overall results):

1. SATisfaction (Hernan Pittoco, Horacio Llorens)
2. Joker (Cyrille Planton, Gábor Kézi)
3. Blues Apocalypse (Guillaume Chatain, Emmanuel Chanceaux)

However many pilots does Infinity in the solo routine, only 2 teams were able to perform synchro Infinity in their program (Joker and Against the Grain) SATisfaction is holding the first place just a point ahead Joker (with a nicely synchronized Tumbling, SAT to Helico and Helico to Helico program). The swiss Spälti team impressed the public again with a great sychro ground spiral landing - in the water.

I couldn't get the detailed results yet, the judges are too busy in the moment...

Winner of the first day: Hervé Cerutti and team SATisfactions!

The 11th Vertigo in Villeneuve started with excellent weather conditions (30°C, light wind, real summer weather) and after the quick qualification run (3 pilots only) began the first task with compulsory program with the following maneuvers and orders:

in Solo:
1. SAT to Helico
2. Helicopter
3. Asymmetric spiral
4. Dynamic Full Stall

in Synchro:
1. Synchro Spiral
2. Dynamic Full Stall
3. Helicopter
4. SAT

In solo Hervé Cerutti (CH) won with an excellent, clean run. Her girlfriend Celine (CH) finished as the best women with a great flight and took the - even in overall classy - 14th place. By the way, it is her first Vertigo!
Guillaume Chatain (FR) came 3rd with a new Aerodyne Shoot. He landed both in the solo and the synchro run perfectly and dry on the raft but only after his wingtip tasted the water of lake Geneva, I think he got the most points for the landings from all the pilots.

Top10 Solo:
1. CERUTTI HERVE 73,98
2. PITOCCO HERNAN 72,81
3. CHATAIN GILLAUME 72,42
4. LLORENS FERNANDEZ HORACIO 71,99
5. CHRISTIAN MAURER 71,25
6. RODRIGUEZ FELIX
7. MESCHUH ALEXANDER 64,59
8. SCHRITTWIESER MARCELL 64,41
9. NIEDERER REMO 64,15
10. PLANTON CYRILL 63,44

Between the teams SATisfaction took the lead with Horacio Llorens (SP) and Hernan Pittoco (AR) with a nicely synchronized run and ground spiral landings, Horacio also made it to the raft. 2nd Blues team from St. Hilaure du Touvet and 3rd the last minute team, Cyrille Planton (FR) and Gábor Kézi (HU)
As 4th comes the team off Nendacroteam with Celine and Hervé who are probably the first competing mixed team ever. The Spälti Acro Team (Peter Neueschwander and Chrigel Maurer from Switzerland) impressed the public with a nice synchro ground spiral, it is a pity the they both landed in the water at the end.

Top10 Synchro:
1. SATISFACTION (LLORENS FERNANDEZ, HORACIO PITOCCO HERNAN)
2. LES BLUES DE L'APOCALYPSE (CHATAIN GILLAUME. CHANCEAUX EMANUEL)
3. PLANTON / KEZI (PLANTON CYRIL, KEZI GABOR)
4. NENDACROTEAM (CELINE BARMAN, HERVE CERUTTI)
5. AGAINST THE GRAIN (HORNBOECK BERND, MESCHUH ALEXANDER)
6. SPALTI ACRO TEAM (MAURER CHRISTIAN, NEUENSCHWANDER PETER)
7. PICON BROTHERS (MARCK CYRILLE, MARCK PASCAL)
8. KINKY SPIN (ROUSSET BAPTISTE, AIMARD ALEXANDRE)
9. AGAINST THE GRAIN JUNIORS (KAHN SEBASTIAN, KAHN RICKY)
10. TITTY TWISTER (BERNHARD ANDRE, RONDEL GREGORY)

Vertigo Swiss Riviera begins!

This year's first APWC event, Vertigo Swiss Riviera, the biggest and oldest acro competition will be held this week for the 11th time in Villeneuve, Switzerland! Beside the World Cup it will be also the 1st Swiss Championship.
Today is the pilot registration and the first briefing for all the solo, synchro and the few hangglider pilots. This year the main focus is on the synchro category, however there will be also 30 of the world's best solo pilots competing. The level is getting higher and higher so it will be interesting to watch the upcoming young talents, fighting against the pro's.

At the weekend we will also see a new concept of competition, with only a limited amount of invited solo pilots and synchro teams (the best 18 pilot and 8 teams, based on the FAI World Ranking). They will be completely free to choose their choreography to impress the public with original ideas and spectacular moves. 2 pilots/teams will form couples and they will compete against each other, elliminating the opponent directly. Beside the 2-3 FAI judges other VIP's and invited guests will score these runs and the results will be published right after the runs. See the detailed rules of the "Open" competition here.

Check back to justACRO every day for news, daily results and reports from the competition!
